Tell Me THE STORY - Week 11 PDF Print E-mail

"They are not just idle words for you – they are your life.
By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.
"
(Deuteronomy 32:47)

A new generation of Israelites stood on the banks of the Jordan River eager to march into the promised land from God.  One decision born of a lack of trust in God had kept their parents out of Canaan.  This new generation had a chance to make a different choice.

In Moses' farewell speeches to Israel he sets out for them a way of life and death, of blessings or curses.  Deuteronomy is the "constitution" of a new nation, God's treasured possession formed for holiness and godliness.  Before setting foot in their new land, Israel is invited to make a commitment where all of life – toward God and with one another – is worship and praise to the Lord their God who brought them out of Egypt into a land of their own.

Watch this video as you read THE STORY in Deuteronomy.
