We are a church with a DNA for planting other churches.
Shaun and Marci Dutile
Shaun and Marci Dutile planted the Water's Edge church in Laconia, New Hampshire in 2016. Their work in the community is bring the loving and healing message of Jesus Christ to a region that has been hungry for that hope. Visit the Water's Edge website to see what is going on.
Shaun and Marci graduated from Harding University in 2003 with degrees in Business Management & Vocational Ministry (Shaun) and Art (Marci). Shaun is currently finishing up a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, beginning his Practicum in July 2013. One year after graduating from Harding the Dutile’s moved to North Brunswick, NJ with a team of 4 couples to start a new church of Christ in an area of great need. Shaun spent the first 3 years in NJ working in the Corporate world before transitioning to full-time ministry in 2007. He currently serves as the Minister for the Brunswick Church of Christ which he and the Harding team planted in 2004. In 2012 one couple from the original Harding team stepped out to plant a second church (Gateway Church of Christ) in Holmdel, NJ leaving Shaun to shepherd BCC.
Shaun & Marci have 5 children and moved to Laconia, NH in January 2014 to plant a new church there. Shaun is passionate about re-taking our culture for the Lord and believes new churches and established churches are God’s means for such cultural revival.
Shaun and Marci's work in Laconia has gotten to a place where more workers are desperately needed. Watch Shaun's short video where he describes the blessing and challenge that awaits those who will answer God's call for workers.
The Green Lawn church has a heritage of discipleship for looking outwardly -- at those ways that we can be salt and light in our world. Begun in 1959 as a church plant for the western side of Lubbock, Green Lawn has had a heart for reaching out and sharing the love of Christ with others.
The shepherds at Green Lawn have given a vision to the missions ministry to “create a Green Lawn ‘pathway’ into missions which would involve, among other actions, selecting, developing, sending, and shepherding missionaries from within the local congregation.” It is our prayer that the Lord has led us to the following action steps:
- Continue to support current works presently funded in the mission’s budget.
- Partner in a five-year commitment with Kairos Church Planting and employ one church planter by February, 2013.
- Begin leadership training to prepare emerging church leaders and potential church planters from within the Green Lawn church.
- Fund a stateside daughter church with a special collection in December to be referred to as Pathways Sunday. This would involve a $250,000 five-year commitment: First year - $75,000;Second year - $75,000; Third year - $50,000; Fourth year - $30,000; Fifth year - $20,000; Sixth year – self-supporting.
We believe it will be beneficial to have Kairos screen and suggest our first planter while we train up our own leaders from within. Our first planter and his family will spend time with Green Lawn to determine whether the planter and Green Lawn are a “fit.”
Please be praying for the Lord to bless this whole process. As you prepare for the collection on Pathways Sunday in December, pray for Green Lawn to become a sending church.
