Tell Me THE STORY - Week 33

Serving God when He Brings Judgment

His word is in my heart like a fire shut up in my bones.
I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.
(Jeremiah 20:9)

"If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a thousand times..." Did you ever hear that as a kid? Have you ever caught yourself saying it? This surely must have been God’s sentiment as He sent His prophets to warn His people. What does God’s messenger do when no one is listening? Quit? Sulk? Change the message so it will be more acceptable? Jeremiah’s words fell on deaf ears, and he was opposed and threatened because of the message of God. Often Jeremiah was discouraged, and at times he wanted to quit – but God’s word in him just wouldn't let him.
