Tell Me THE STORY - Week 4

Questions of Pain and Suffering

Have you considered my servant Job...? (Job 1:8)

Set in the period of the patriarchs, the book of Job tells the story of a righteous man who loses everything – his wealth, his family, and his health – and wrestles with the question, "Why?" It is one of life's most difficult puzzles. Why do people suffer? And if God is all-powerful and all-loving, why does He allow good people to suffer? People who seek God and submit to Him sometimes struggle with understanding God's ways, and we want to be able to justify how God works in the world to the world.

As you read the book of Job over the next couple of weeks, what answers can you find to Job's question, "Why is this happening to me?"
