Tell Me THE STORY - Week 47

Roadblocks and Open Doors

God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.
(Acts 17:27)

Hope is powerful. It is what believers experience in Jesus Christ. Hope propelled Paul to proclaim the gospel even when people rejected, ridiculed, and even persecuted him – so that he would win some along the way. Hope provides strength and encouragement in difficult circumstances knowing we have a Savior who will return someday and bring us into something better. But sometimes the waiting necessary in hope can be challenged with doubts and discouragement when eyes are turned from the object of our hope, when what we hope for seems too long in coming, or when deceivers call hope into question. We need one another to remind us of the Source of our hope, and then wait expectantly for when hope will be fulfilled.
