Tell Me THE STORY - Week 48

Answers for a Church in Crisis

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
(1 Corinthians 4:20)

Have you ever known a perfect church? What a ridiculous question! There has never been a perfect church because churches are made up of imperfect people. All too often pride, selfishness, and personal preferences and ambitions get in the way of faithfully following the Spirit’s lead and power in a church. Sometimes it can get so bad that one has to wonder if God can really do anything with a problem-laden church. Praise be to God, it
does not depend on us getting it right all the time. The church of God are “those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ – their Lord and ours” (1 Cor 1:2). There is always hope for an imperfect church as it regularly reorients itself and listens for the voice of its Savior.
