God's Hope when Conditions Worsen
LORD Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.
(Psalm 84:12)
The conclusion to 1 Samuel ends with a question mark. Saul looked like he would make a great king, but he did not. David did not look like he would make a great king, but would he? With the death of King Saul, a transition occurs in Israel to a new king. Not everyone accepted God's choice of the new king. How would "the man after God's heart" handle this unsettled period?
