We Will Serve the Lord: A Study of Joshua and Ruth

Toward the end of the book of Joshua, Joshua gathers the people together and tells them “Choose this day whom you will serve…” By this point in the book the Israelites have already entered the Promised Land and are now trying to decide whom or what they would follow. In the Book of Ruth, Ruth and Naomi are faced with similar challenges. Maybe not exactly the same as they are not leading a conquest against Canaan. However, they are trying to figure life out as a widow and her daughter-in-law living in Israel seeking to follow God. In this study we will look at the things and the people that Israel was seeking to follow, and how God revealed to them that he is the best option, both then and now.
